International legal conference on the blockchain technology and digital currencies.

The conference is focused on recent changes in different legal regulations, digital crime and cybersecurity.

The issues raised at  the conference will be focused on legal matters as well as on economic and business aspects of blockchain technology.

We are aware of the challenges introduced with the growing impact of the blockchain technology, fin-tech sector and digital money and our aim is to discuss all important matters in relation to blockchain technology

The goals of the conference Legal regulations of the blockchain technology and digital currencies in the world 2017

The goal of the conference is to discuss recent changes in different legal systems of EU member states, in particular, on the blockchain technology and digital money. We plan to raise some important questions on legal regulations, definitions of new terms, digital crime and prevention, cybersecurity, etc. We would like to present the achievements of Polish legal thinkers on the subject of the conference. Having that in mind, we would like to challenge the plans of changes in regulations in EU-wide legal system.

Legal regulations of the blockchain technology and digital currencies in the world 2017 topics

1. Review of legal systems of different countries from the point of view of the challenges introduced with the growing impact of the blockchain technology and digital money, including

  • cybersecurity (incl. personal data protection),
  • taxation issues (incl. PIT/CIT, accounting),
  • new ways of financing (equity crowdfunding, initial coin offerings),
  • new forms of contracts (smart contracts, DAOs).

2. Definitions of the new terms introduced to legal systems

  • digital vs. electronic money, cryptocurrencies, virtual currencies,
  • distributed legders, blockchains,
  • blockchain-based money, digital / native tokens, etc.

3. Financial regulatory challenges introduced by growing fin-tech sector

  • financial regulators and regulatory sandboxes,
  • KYC/AML procedures challenged by cryptocurrencies,
  • protection of consumers and collapses of cryptocurrency exchanges.
