Konferencja Var Sovia = new Tech(); 2017

var Sovia = new Tech();  is a Microsoft developer conference that showcases newest dev technologies and solutions. The event puts spotlight on Mixed Reality with HoloLens, Azure, Biological Computing, .NET Core, Bots and Conversation as a Platform, Cognitive Services, Xamarin cross-platform development, Mobile DevOps, Node.js and Serverless Computing.

Attend var Sovia = new Tech(); on 29th of March, 2017 to hear from speakers representing Microsoft, Microsoft Research, Microsoft's ISV Partners and MVP Community. The event keynote will be delivered by Satya Nadella, Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft.

During the event you will also have an unique opportunity to dive into the holographic world in the HoloLens Experience Zone , where you would be able to hands-on demo the Mixed Reality solutions developed by Microsoft's ISV partners.

var Sovia = new Tech(); will be filled with strong technical sessions and will offer you great opportunities to meet, network and learn from others in the industry.

Konferencja Var Sovia = new Tech(); agenda

  • Opening session Debbi Hoehn
  • HoloLens + Azure: Developing for healthcare Mateusz Kierepka, Ralf Saykiewicz The presentation will focus on Microsoft technologies surrounding telemedicine/virtual care and how they support healthcare professionals in the 21st Century and how to develop these using C#, Azure and Visual Studio.
  • Enhancing the Node.js platform through open source partnership Josh Gavant JavaScript's simplicity, ubiquity, and event-driven paradigm; and improvements to its runtimes like Microsoft's Chakra and Google's V8; have led it to spread through Node.js beyond web pages and browsers to servers and clouds, IoT devices, mobile apps, and more. As usage of Node.js spreads, Microsoft is helping address developers' needs through active contributions to the Node.js project and by fully supporting Node.js in Azure platforms and tools.
  • .NET Cage Match: Old vs New Bojan Vrhovnik, Jakub Gutkowski Introducing ASP.NET MVC changed how .NET Developers think about web apps in .NET. With .NET Core Microsoft wanted for us to be more productive and effective. Come and join us to see in action in .NET cage match old vs new.
  • Keynote Satya Nadella
  • Life as Computation Sara Jane Dunn The 20st Century was transformed by the ability to program on silicon. Companies such as Microsoft, Apple, Samsung and Google owe their existence to this single innovation, making possible technologies that have revolutionised how the world works. As we face global challenges in health, food production, and in powering an increasingly energy-greedy planet, it is becoming clear that the 21st Century could be equally transformed by the advent of programming on an entirely different material: biological matter. The power to program biology could transform medicine, agriculture and energy, but relies, fundamentally, on an understanding of biological computation. We are compelled to consider biochemistry as molecular machinery in the service of biological information-processing and decision-making. My talk will focus on the need for new approaches to understanding biological computation, in addition to how, in collaboration with experimentalists at the University of Cambridge, we have made progress in understanding the programs that govern decision-making in embryonic stem cells.
  • Xamarin and Mobile DevOps Karol Żak DevOps allows developers to automate some of the core processes connected with app development like building, unit/UI testing and also deploying and distributing apps to end users. Karol Żak will show you what Microsoft can offer to developers to help them make use of DevOps practices in order to make mobile apps development easier and faster and to enable continuous delivery of value to end users. In this short session we will take a brief look at how can we setup DevOps practices for Xamarin apps using Visual Studio Team Services, Xamarin Test Cloud and Hockey App.
  • Bots - What are they? Why now? Best practices and real life scenarios Ami Turgman In this talk we will take a look at real world scenarios for bots and how they can be used for solving real user needs.
  • Data analytics in the the cloud using Azure Cognitive Services, HDInsight, Power BI and Querona Damian Widera, Łukasz Grala, Marek Byszewski Modern data warehousing environments must respond to business needs quickly, scale with a single click and involve AI in decision making. We will show you how to quickly set up a logical data warehouse, easily connect to your data sources, upload data to the cloud and make big data analytics a reality. With the help of Azure Cognitive Services it is now possible to recognize images, translate texts or get recommendations. Finally we will show a full stack Business Intelligence environment that offloads query execution to Azure, utilizes Apache Spark for Azure HDInsight for execution. We will build a self-service Data Lake on Azure using Querona and finally run federated queries across on-premise data and the cloud from Power BI.
